Karen M. Skafte, PLA, ASLA
Principal Emeritus
It was with a mixture of gratitude and warm wishes that we announced the retirement of our principal and friend, Karen Skafte.
Karen had been a dedicated practitioner since 1986, leading our firm as a principal for the past 25 years. Her career has been defined by design excellence and an unwavering commitment to the public realm. The landscapes she has shaped across the region stand as a testament to her vision and her hard work.
While her professional legacy is etched into the physical environment of Philadelphia, her personal impact on our studio is equally profound. The Ground Reconsidered team is going to miss her design wisdom, her exceptional aesthetic sensibilities, her kindness as a mentor, and the humor that she brought to the office every day.
We thank Karen for her decades of service and wish her the very best in her well-deserved retirement.
